The Gender Action Plan (GAP) developed under the project contributes to the efforts of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 5. Gender Diversity. It is an instrument used to promote gender equality and increase female participation within the biofouling industry. Through its activities, GAP addresses data gaps, establishes baseline figures, identifies challenges and constraints, and engages with the private sector to create a more inclusive and diverse workforce.
